Did you know that the floor drain in your basement has a ‘P-trap’ that is full of water to keep sewer gases from escaping?  Eventually that water evaporates and things get smelly.  The solution is to pour some vegetable oil down the floor drain.  It won’t evaporate and is perfectly safe.
